Sustainability

Responsible
chemistry.

Sustainability at Green Clean is a function of the product design, not a marketing position. High-dilution concentrates that structurally reduce waste, packaging, and environmental impact — without compromising professional performance. The figures on this page come from our Safety Data Sheet, not our marketing team.

01
High dilution,
less waste

One container.
Many times its volume.

Our products are developed as high-dilution concentrates. A single container produces up to 30 times its volume in ready-to-use working solution. This structurally reduces environmental impact — fewer deliveries, less packaging, less storage — without requiring any change in cleaning performance.

  • Fewer deliveries required to maintain the same cleaning volume
  • Significantly lower packaging use per litre of working solution
  • Reduced storage footprint for professional operators
  • Lower transport emissions per litre of usable product
02
Responsible
chemistry

As responsible as
the performance allows.

Effective professional cleaning requires chemistry. Our goal is to make that chemistry as responsible as possible without compromising performance. Low hazard classification is a design goal, not a coincidence. The surfactants used in Green Clean are on average more than 90% biodegradable, confirmed under EU Detergent Directive requirements.

  • UN GHS classified with no hazard pictograms
  • Surfactants 90%+ biodegradable under EU Detergent Directive*
  • Not classified as a marine pollutant under IMDG transport regulations
  • Skin-friendly, non-flammable formulation for daily professional use
  • VOC content 1.95% — very low for a professional cleaning concentrate

03
pH &
environmental
impact

What goes down
the drain matters.

Most professional cleaning products used in automotive workshops are strongly alkaline — pH 12 to 14. At these levels, wash water entering drains carries a significant chemical load. Mixed with engine grease and discharged without treatment, the environmental impact on waterways, drainage systems, and aquatic life is considerable.

Green Clean Concentrate has a pH of 10.5 at concentrate, falling to approximately pH 8 at working dilution — close to neutral. At this level, the environmental impact of workshop runoff is dramatically reduced compared to conventional high-alkaline degreasers.

In Switzerland, automotive workshops are legally required to install grease separator and filtration systems. Wash water is treated before reaching the drainage system — often using biological filtration with bacterial cultures that break down chemical compounds. This infrastructure is standard practice.

In the United Kingdom, the majority of independent automotive workshops and detailing operations have no equivalent filtration. Workshop wash water — including engine degreaser runoff — enters the drainage system largely untreated. The pH of the cleaning product used is therefore a direct environmental variable.

  • pH 8 at working dilution — near neutral, minimal aquatic impact
  • Significantly lower alkaline load than conventional traffic film removers
  • Compatible with biological filtration systems used in Swiss-regulated workshops
  • Not classified as a marine pollutant — relevant for marina and harbour use

Performance
prevents waste

Products that work
are used efficiently.

Products that fail to perform require repeat applications, higher concentrations, and supplementary products. Green Clean is designed for professional environments where efficiency is measured in time, cost, and material use — not in marketing language.

  • Fewer repeat applications needed per cleaning task
  • One product replaces several specialty cleaners in most operations
  • Predictable dilution ratios reduce product overuse
  • Consistent Swiss manufacturing ensures batch-to-batch reliability

Honest
statements

We state what the
documentation supports.

Sustainability claims in the cleaning industry are frequently overstated. We state the classifications our products hold. Where a claim requires qualification, we include it. Where we do not have independent certification, we do not assert it.

All figures on this page are drawn directly from the Green Clean Concentrate Safety Data Sheet, prepared by Hürlimann Green Products GmbH, San Nazzaro, Switzerland. Full Safety Data Sheets are available on request.

Our commitment

Chemistry that
respects its
environment.

Sustainability at Green Clean is built into the product design itself. High-efficiency cleaning, reduced waste, near-neutral working pH, and honest communication about what our products can and cannot do.

The same principles that guided the original Swiss formulation guide every batch manufactured today.
